Airtel to Offer Rs 49 Recharge for Free to Low-Income Customers in India

  To help its customers stay connected with friends and family in these trying times, Airtel has announced to offer its Rs 49 recharge pack for free to low-income users. This, as per the telecom giant, will be a  “one-time gesture”  for its massive 5.5 crores customer base, especially for those living in rural India. Moreover, the company also announced to offer double benefits for its prepaid customers who buy the Rs 79 recharge pack. The announcement from Airtel comes right after Reliance Jio announced to offer similar benefits to its customers recently. The latter is offers Jio Phone owners 300 additional minutes of outgoing voice calls for free every month  “for the entire period of the pandemic” . On the other hand, Airtel prepaid customers will now get the Rs 49 recharge plan for free, which  offers 100MB of data and Rs 38 worth of talktime for a period of 28 days . Airtel XStream Fiber Offers 1000GB Data to New Customers By Techtonic group Airtel has reportedly started offering  1000GB additional data  at no extra cost to Airtel  XStream Fiber  customers. As reported by  TelecomTalk ,  the offer is applicable to new customers  signing up for the service within the promotional period. The  company will run the offer until the 7th of June . According to the report, the offer is already live in select cities across the country including Chennai, Coimbatore, Cochin, and Ernakulam. In case you're unaware, Airtel XStream Fiber offers a total of four plans - Basic, Entertainment, Premium, and VIP.  The aforesaid 1000GB promotional data is not applicable to the high-end VIP plan since it has no FUP . Amazon Reportedly in Talks to Aquire $2 Billion-Stake in Airtel By Techtonic group US technology and retail giant Amazon is reportedly planning on buying stakes worth $2 billion in Indian telecom operator Bharti Airtel. As reported by Reuters, sources close to the talks claim the conversation is in its early stages right now. With this investment, Amazon will acquire close to 5% stake in Airtel according to its current market value. Amazon's interest in Airtel isn't unwarranted.
