Ubisoft Sues Apple, Google Over Alibaba's Rainbow Six Seige Clone By Techtonic group Ubisoft has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Apple and Google on copyright infringement grounds  for selling a game named Area F2 , which is a "near carbon copy" of the company's popular online shooter game Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege that got released in 2015. As reported by  Bloomberg , the lawsuit was filed in a U.S. federal court in Los Angeles. Before the lawsuit, Ubisoft appears to have notified both Apple and Google regarding the copyright violation but both of the companies refused to remove the game. Originally announced by the official Epic Games twitter account over the weekend via a now-deleted tweet, the free download went live at 8:30PM IST earlier tonight (11AM ET) and will be available until May 21st. Rockstar is offering the Premium Edition of the game, which includes access to the game itself, GTA Online and a whole host of additional content. Do note that the download isn't a demo or a free trial, given that everybody downloading the game over the next week will get to keep it for life. However, it's worth mentioning that Rockstar is only waiving off the initial charge, so all the micro-transactions within the game will still have to be paid for. The update brings two new major features to the game engine, which the company calls 'Nanite' and 'Lumen'. Nanite is a feature that focuses on virtualizing polygon geometry. The feature lets developers import high-quality assets such as ZBrush scripts, photogrammetry scans, CAD data without compromising on quality. "Nanite geometry is streamed and scaled in real-time so there are no more polygon count budgets, polygon memory budgets, or draw count budgets; there is no need to bake details to normal maps or manually author LODs.",  explains the company.
