Now, the company has partnered with two of India's renowned food delivery apps -  Swiggy and Zomato  - to bring a similar feature to the restaurant owners. It has debuted a new  'Food Order' sticker  that restaurants can include in their Stories to drive sales. The Coronavirus-led lockdown saw almost all restaurants and eateries shut shop for several days. And even when they opened, netizens have been wary to eat outside or order in due to hygiene concerns. Swiggy, Zomato, Dunzo get Permission to Test Drone Deliveries in India By Techtonic group The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given the green signal to  Dunzo ,  Swiggy  and  Zomato , alongside a number of other consortia, to begin testing drone deliveries in India. The companies have reportedly received permission to test fly 'Beyond Visual Line of Sight' drones in select regions in India. The tests will see drones carry payloads or survey vast areas, and will begin in the first week of July. Throttle Aerospace received the approval in March along with Dunzo, and said that it plans around 120 hours of flight time in the outskirts of Bengaluru.  "We will start flying from the first week of July and plan to clock around 120 hours of flights in two and a half months" , said Nagendran Kandasamy, Founder, Throttle Aerospace. Swiggy Starts Offering Raw Materials on Credit to Partner Restaurants By Techtonic group The nationwide lockdown in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 has greatly altered how Swiggy operates and what services it offers. The company expanded into  grocery and package delivery  earlier last month. Now, as the government eases the lockdown restrictions, Swiggy is looking to help restaurant partners get back on their feet. The food delivery giant has set up a new B2B platform called Swiggy Staples Plus. It's aimed at delivering grocery, meat, vegetables, and other essentials (such as packaging material) to its restaurant partners. The minimum order amount needs to be Rs. 900, as per the Swiggy Partner app. The highlight of this platform will, however, have to be the fact that Swiggy is offering  essential raw material on credit  to its restaurant partners. Swiggy Lays Off 1,100 Employees Amidst Coronavirus Crisis By Techtonic group Food delivery platform  Swiggy is laying off over 1,000 employees . Swiggy informed employees in an internal email from co-founder and CEO Sriharsha Majety. The email got later published in the company's blog post. The announcement comes merely a few days after Zomato announced its plans to lay off 13 percent of its workforce. "We unfortunately have to part ways with 1100 of our employees spanning across grades and functions in the cities and head office over the next few days.  This is easily the hardest and longest deliberated decision the management team and I have been faced with over recent times.", wrote Sriharsha Majety. Swiggy will be providing impacted employees  three months of financial support  regardless of their notice period.
